Kyocera Intelligence Proud to be Participating in Laurel House ‘Adopt a Family’ Holiday Program
The team of professionals at Baltimore’s Kyocera Intelligence (OSIS) are honored to have helped spread the true meaning of the holiday season this year. In conjunction with the annual Adopt a Family Program, coordinated by Laurel House, OSIS bought, wrapped and delivered a truckload of gifts to a local family in need.
Laurel House operates all year long as a safe haven for women and children who have been subject to domestic violence and escaped. Laurel House provides housing and a variety of supportive and educational services and resources for survivors of domestic violence including awareness training programs, medical advocacy services, safety planning and more. When the holiday season approaches, Laurel House counts on partnership and donations from local businesses and individuals to help bring the joy to these families rebuilding after crisis.
The Adopt a Family program allows donors to sponsor a family by purchasing items off “Mom & Child Wish Lists” that outline what kind of items are needed and what kind of gifts would be enjoyed. Because many of these families arrive at Laurel House with nothing but the clothes on their back, receiving necessities and gifts during the holidays is incredibly meaningful as they rebuild. Family sizes vary and range from single women to single mothers with up to 4 children.
The team at OSIS was incredibly excited to shop for the wish list items for their family. They purchased a variety of clothing, house hold items and fun gifts for a single mother and her four children. OSIS even purchased and put together a brand new bike for under this family’s Christmas tree! The entire experience brought the whole team together as they worked to get the items purchased, festively wrapped and packed into the OSIS truck for delivery.
“Delivering the gifts we hand selected and wrapped for this family was such an awesome experience.” Amy Busick, OSIS Sales Manager, claims. “Being able to help out an organization like Laurel House – who works to help these families all year long – is what the Christmas spirit is all about. Every year it helps us remember what’s important and brings us all together for a great cause. We hope to continue this tradition of giving for years to come.”
