Congenital Muscular Dystrophy (CMD) is a general term for a group of genetic muscle diseases that have an onset at birth, or shortly after birth. Those diagnosed with CMD tend to spend a portion or all of their lives in a wheelchair – requiring support to eat and breath. There are no treatments or cures for these types of muscular dystrophies.
Every year, one of our clients embarks on fundraising efforts to raise money for CURECMD.org. This year, we’d like to help our client fund the fight to find a cure for their daughter, Klara, a very bright 5-year-old girl who was born with a form of CMD.
For the second year in a row, our client has gotten a running team together of over 25 individuals. To date, they’ve raised over $8,000 and they’re getting close to their goal of $10,000. We’d like to invite you to help us help them fund the fight to find a cure for Klara and everyone else that suffers from forms of CMD.

Klara, a 5-year-old girl, is very smart, happy, and fun loving – she loves to sing, play with her baby dolls, go shopping, paint her nails, and many of the things 5-year-old enjoy despite struggling with a form of CMD. She’s never been able to walk or stand – often spending time in braces to support foot and spine development.
She spends a majority of her time in doctors appointments and therapy, but she gives her best and she’s always smiling. Please join us in our journey. When you sponsor the race, 100% of your donation goes towards research for CDM – making a huge difference in the lives of children like Klara.
